Acabei de ler “Shinegow” a 16 de maio de 2012. Dou-lhe quatro estrelas.
Este é um livro de leitura fácil e fluída. O que gostei mais foi o facto de me fazer lembrar as estórias que costuma ler e também escrever quando era mais jovem. Creio que se trata de um trabalho bem conseguido, no geral.
A mudar algo, sugeria uma nova revisão ao texto, dado que há alguns erros corrigir. Também há outras coisas que proporia à autora para usar no segundo volume. Por exemplo, não é preciso usar sempre letra maiúscula num diálogo quando uma personagem está a gritar; percebemo-lo com a simples indicação verbal expressa em seguida. Se nos é dito que a personagem “explodiu”, percebemos logo por aí que não se tratou de uma frase dita em voz baixa ou de forma meiga.
Há igualmente certas partes que deviam ter sido mais desenvolvidas. Por exemplo, quando Jinny está com Thomas numa esplanada perto da Feira dos Cavalos e, de súbito, desmaia. A partir daí há uma precipitação de eventos que parece relativamente forçada, como o teletransporte de Destiny, o que muda entre Jinny e Alexander… e no fim não se fica a perceber bem que papel desempenhou Alexander quanto ao ferimento e às mudanças em Jinny. O que quero dizer é que, na minha opinião, certas coisas não deviam ser tão abruptas; carecem de explicação e um maior desenvolvimento.
Fiquei curiosa para saber o que vai acontecer em seguida, pelo que gostaria de continuar a acompanhar a série.

I just read "Shinegow" the May 16, 2012. I rate it four stars.
This book is quite readable and fluid. What I liked most was the fact that it made me remember the stories that I used to read and also write when I was younger. I think this is a well done work overall.
As to change something, I’d suggest a new revision of the text, since there are some mistakes to correct. There are other things that I’d propose to the author to use in the second volume. For example, you don’t have to use capital letters always in a dialog when a character is shouting; we can perceive it with a simple verbal statement expressed next. If we are told that the character "exploded", we soon realize that it was not a phrase spoken in a low voice, or so sweet.
There are also some parts that should have been more developed. For example, when Jinny is with Thomas in a terrace near the Horse Fair, she suddenly collapses. After that, there’s a rush of events that seems relatively forced, like the teleportation of Destiny, what changes between Jinny and Alexander... and in the end we still don’t get what role Alexander played on the injury and changes in Jinny. What I mean is, in my opinion, certain things should not be so abrupt; they lack of explanation and further development.
I was curious to know what will happen next, so I would like to continue to reading the series.
