SINOPSE

Et Al. é um livro que cruza existências, baralha-as e, afinal, tudo se resume a... um só ser, a uma só entidade que é muitas e, talvez, não seja até nenhuma. Por isso apresenta-nos uma visão caleidoscópica da realidade que nos rodeia, que nós conhecemos e sentimos, mas que não sabemos traduzir em palavras. O EU feminino fragmentado do narrador vai rodopiando e assumindo pontos de vista que o enriquecem e lhe permitem o distanciamento necessário para perceber o mundo e, sobretudo, para perdoar à vida a insensibilidade das suas agressões. Trata-se de um livro que penetra no âmago do ser humano e revela as verdades simples que poderiam permanecer ocultas para aqueles que se acomodam.

Li este livro de uma assentada no dia 6 de Abril de 2012; dou-lhe quatro estrelas.

Trata-se de uma história profunda que nos conduz a reflexões internas, algumas das quais despoletadas por frases soltas de outros autores que surgem para caracterizar o ponto de vista de uma personagem de “Et Al”.

A narrativa não é apresentada de forma linear, isto é, são-nos dados pedaços de informação que no final se agrupam para formar uma história única. Na parte II torna-se difícil perceber quem é quem, o que implica uma maior concentração do leitor, mas com algum distanciamento conseguimos compreender de quem se trata afinal.

Gostei dos temas tratados e da vida sofrida das personagens, na medida em que aprendemos  algo com as lições de vida que nos transmitem. A questão que gostei mais de ver levantada está relacionada com a dislexia e a discriminação que a incompreensão do problema pode gerar. Também gostei da perpetiva dada a propósito da solidão.

Por fim, congratulo a autora pela forma como escreve. É sempre bom ler algo escrito em “bom Português”.

REVIEW

I read this book in one fell swoop on 6th April 2012; I rate it four stars.

It is a deep story that lead us to internal reflections, some of which triggered by loosen phrases from other authors used to characterize the view of a character in "Et Al."

The narrative is not presented in a linear way, ie, we are given pieces of information that ultimately come together to form a single story. In Part II it becomes hard to tell who is who, which implies a higher concentration of the reader, but with some distance we can understand who they are anyway.

I liked the topics covered and the hard life of the characters, as we learn something about the life lessons that they give us. The question that I liked to see brought up was related to dyslexia and the discrimination that can be generated by the misunderstanding of the problem. I also liked the perspective given about loneliness.

Finally, I congratulate the author for the way she writes. It's always good to read something written in "good Portuguese."
