OPINIÃO
Acabei
de ler este livro a 12 de setembro; dou-lhe três estrelas.
Não
posso dizer que foi um dos meus livros favoritos e, sinceramente, estava à
espera de uma coisa diferente e um pouco melhor. Embora o início parecesse
promissor, a história não me cativou senão depois do meio da narrativa, além de
que o final foi um pouco forçado, à falta de melhor palavra.
Quanto
à história em si, o tema das bruxas é interessante, principalmente porque cada
um na família tem poderes diferentes.
Quanto
às personagens, a que gostei mais foi a Lena, pois apesar de ser gozada por ser
a rapariga estranha da escola, não desistiu de perseguir os seus objetivos,
ignorando os apupos dos outros. A personagem de que menos gostei foi o pai de
Ethan; espero que venha a ter um papel diferente na história. Tudo bem que
perdeu a mulher e a inspiração para escrever, mas o modo como se alheia da
realidade é digno de um louco que devia estar num hospício, por isso ou o
mandam para lá ou ele muda e volta à realidade, senão o que está a fazer na
história? Nada.
Não
me apetece muito continuar esta série, no entanto ofereceram-me o segundo
volume no meu aniversário, por isso vou prosseguir.

REVIEW
I finished reading this book on 12th September and I rate it three stars.
I can’t say it was one of my favorite books, and frankly, I was expecting
something different and a little better. Although the beginning seemed promising, the
story didn’t captivate me until
after the middle of the narrative,
and that the end was a little forced, for lack of a better word.
As for the story itself, the
theme of witches is interesting, mainly
because each one in the family
has different powers.
As for the characters, the one I liked the most was
Lena, because despite being teased
for being the strange girl of school, she didn’t give up pursuing her goals, ignoring
the jeers of others. The character I liked
least was the father of Ethan.
I hope he will have a different role in the story. Okay, he lost his wife and his inspiration to write, but the way how he is oblivious
of reality is worthy of a lunatic who should be in an asylum, so either send him there or he changes and
returns to reality, otherwise what’s
he doing in the story? Nothing.
I don’t feel much like to continue this
series, however I
was offered the second volume on my birthday, so I will proceed.
