"The Deep Dark World of Magic Lighthorse" é sobre o empregador de Anna Ringer, uma misteriosa companhia chamada Lighthorse Magic. Têm muitas regras. Os funcionários estão proibidos de se vestir de maneira a chamar a atenção para os seus corpos. Estão proibidos de comer nas suas mesas. Estão proibidos de apanhar transportes públicos.
E é uma má ideia dizer “Freezlebeezer frazzlebeezer Re! Ra! Ro!”.
"Tamara Klugman Steps Out" é sobre uma mulher bastante aborrecida que recebe uma visão e dicas para salvar o mundo.
“Three Excerpts from the Diary of Joan Holland” é sobre a jovem esposa grávida do presidente não oficial de uma aldeia chamada Rising Sun. Ela cozinha tortas e pães, e escreve no seu diário "Estou presa nas mandíbulas do tempo."
SYNOPSIS
These companion stories to my novel Cel & Anna are brief. Think of them as breath mints. Cookie buttons. Champagne splits.
“The Deep Dark World of Lighthorse Magic” is about Anna Ringer’s employer, a mysterious company called Lighthorse Magic. It has lots of rules. Employees are forbidden to dress in ways that call attention to their bodies. They are forbidden to eat at their desks. They are forbidden to take public transportation.
And it is a bad idea to say “Freezlebeezer frazzlebeezer Re! Ra! Ro!”
“Tamara Klugman Steps Out” is about a rather dull young woman who receives a vision and blunders out to save the world.
“Three Excerpts from the Diary of Joan Holland” is about the pregnant young wife of the unofficial mayor of a village called Rising Sun. She bakes pies and bread. She writes in her journal, “I am in time’s jaws.”

Concluí a leitura de “Lighthorse Magic and Other Stories” a 2 de Fevereiro de 2012 e atribuo-lhe três estrelas.
Regra geral, não gosto muito de estórias curtas, no entanto tenho a dizer que gostei bastante do estilo de escrita da autora, o que só por si fez com que valesse a pena ter feito o download deste livro digital.
O ebook reúne três estórias relacionadas com outro livro da mesma escritora, pelo que fiquei um pouco à nora de início. Contudo, as narrativas fazem sentido só por si e são de fácil compreensão.
Vou então tentar adquirir “Cel and Anna: A 22nd Century Love Story”, de forma a poder ler algo mais extenso desta autora.

I finished reading "Lighthorse Magic and Other Stories" on 2nd February 2012 and I rate it three stars.
In general, I don’t really like short stories, however I have to say that I really liked the writing style of the author, which alone made it worth while to have downloaded this digital book.
The ebook includes three stories related to another book of the same writer, so I was a bit clueless at first. Nevertheless, the narratives make sense by themselves and they are easy to understand.
I’ll then try to acquire "Cel and Anna: The 22nd Century Love Story", to be able to read something more extensive of this author.
