OPINIÃO

Acabei de ler este livro a 14 de maio e dou-lhe quatro estrelas.

Gostei tanto deste como do primeiro volume, mas continuo a ter a mesma opinião: contém demasiados dados desnecessários que podiam ter sido evitados, não só porque em nada contribuem para a história, mas também porque assim se encurtava o tamanho do livro. Não é que tenha alguma coisa contra o número de páginas (até o meu tem 350!), mas uma coisa é ser algo necessário e outra é “encher chouriços”.

Passando das críticas menos boas às melhores, passei o tempo todo a ansiar pelo reencontro de Eragon com Roran e que o Roran descobrisse no que o primo se tornou. Não aconteceu bem como esperava, mas pronto. Quanto ao Murtagh, foi um choque a descoberta e gostava que acabasse tudo em bem, mas todas as histórias têm uma reviravolta – esta foi uma delas; quem sabe ser não haverá outra?

Continuo a achar a história bastante cativante, pelo que tenciono concluir a leitura da trilogia em breve; apenas tenho de ler outro livro pelo meio, porque é bastante requisitado na biblioteca municipal e está em lista de espera para outras pessoas.

REVIEW

I finished reading this book on May 14^th and I rate it four stars.

I liked it so much as the first volume, but I still have the same opinion: it contains too many unnecessary data that could have been avoided, not only because they contribute nothing to the story, but also because it would shorten the size of the book. Not that I have anything against the number of pages (even mine has 350 pages), but one thing is that it is necessary and another thing is stalling.

From the critics less good to the best ones, I spent all the time yearning for reunion of Eragon and Roran, and that Roran discovered in what his cousin had become. It did not happen as well as expected, but that’s okay. As for Murtagh, it was a shocking discovery and I wish it to end all well, but all stories have a twist - this was one of them, maybe there will be another?

I still find the story quite captivating, so I intend to finish reading the trilogy soon. I just have to read another book by the middle, because it is quite ordered at the municipal library and is on the waiting list for others.
