Acabei de ler este ebook a 19 de abril de 2012. Atribuo-lhe uma classificação de quatro estrelas.
Este é um género que não é o meu preferido, mas mesmo assim resolvi ler o livro. Tenho que saudar a autora, porque está bem escrito. Foi inteligente da sua parte começar pelo que considerou como mais interessante e avançar (e retroceder) a partir daí.
O que menos gostei tem a ver com um aspeto que a própria autora sublinhou na página que dedica ao leitor: há muitas datas e factos. Quando está a ser narrado o caso de Lawrencia Bembenek, é dita tanta coisa, que se torna confuso e aborrecido. É demasiado para assimilar, a menos que estejamos a falar de alguém que seguiu o caso e gostou particularmente de o fazer. Por outro lado, era difícil escrever a história de outro modo, a menos que se pretendesse torná-la numa narrativa contada por um narrador omnisciente, o que extravasaria factos e seria mais subjectivo, na medida em que seria necessário colmatar certas falhas que apenas são do conhecimento de quem as viveu – aqui seria um trabalho de ficção.

This is a genre that is not my favorite, still I decided to read the book. I have to salute the author, because it is well written. It was smart of her to start with what she considered the most interesting, and move forward (and backward) from there.
What I liked least has to do with an aspect that the author herself underlined on the page dedicated to the reader: there are many dates and facts. When the case of Lawrencia Bembenek is being narrated, it is said that so much that it becomes confuse and boring. It's too much to take in, unless we’re talking about someone who followed the case and particularly liked to do it. On the other hand, it was difficult to write the story in a different way; unless you intended to turn it into a narrative told by an omniscient speaker - that would go beyond facts and would be more subjective, as it would be necessary to fulfill certain parts that are only known by those who lived them. That would be a fiction work.
