Go, Alien Hunter!

As filmagens de “Alien Hunter” já arrancaram! É engraçado ver um projeto ganhar vida e sair do papel para o ecrã. Mas antes de partilhar algumas fotos das filmagens, tenho uma “flash interview” com Michelle Chan, produtora de Alien Hunter ;-)

RC: Olá, Michelle! Como descobriu o projeto Alien Hunter e por que aderiu ao mesmo?

MC: A história atraiu-me para o projeto. É uma história maravilhosa sobre a amizade sem fronteiras aos olhos das crianças.

RC: Fale-nos sobre o seu trabalho como produtora de Alien Hunter.

MC: Sou a produtora, mas trabalho com a co-produtora Loren Selby, que foi trazida um pouco mais tarde para o projeto. Encontrei localização inicial para as filmagens e a produção tratou de fazer tudo acontecer.

RC: As filmagens já começaram. Como vão as coisas e quais os planos para os próximos dias?

MC: Filmámos durante cinco dias em Trona, CA. Agora estamos a angariar fundos para terminar o filme. Esta é uma curta independente. As pessoas podem visitar o nosso site (que estou a atualizar) para saber mais e fazer o seu donativo, que será dedutível nos impostos.

The filming of "Alien Hunter" has already started! It's funny to see a project come to life and go from paper to screen. But before I share some photos of the filming, I have a flash interview with Michelle Chan, producer of Alien Hunter ;-)

RC: Hi, Michelle! How did you learn about Alien Hunter and why did you join it?

MC:  The story drew me to the project. It's a wonderful story about friendship with no borders in the eyes of children.

RC: Tell us about your work as a producer for Alien Hunter.

MC: I am producer but am working with a co-producer Loren Selby who was brought on a little later in the project. I found initial location and production managed to make this happen.

RC: The filming has already started. How are things going and which are the plans for the next days?

MC: We shot for 4 days in Trona, CA. We are now raising funds to finish the film. This is an independent short. People can visit our website (which I am updating) to learn more and donate, which will be tax deductible.

I wish a lot of success to the team. I hope everything goes well and that they’re able to finish the movie. I know I'll watch it ;-)

Flash Interview: Candy Crum

“The Eternal Echo”, o segundo volume de “The Eternal Series” da autoria de Candy Crum, saiu esta semana. Lobisomens são um novo item a adicionar à estória, a qual é descrita como repleta de emoções ao rubro e bastante mais gráfica. Fique a saber um pouco mais através desta flash-interview concedida pela autora.

O que pode dizer-nos sobre "The Eternal Echo"?
“The Eternal Echo” centra-se na sequência do que Analynn fez. A situação explode sobre Kailah e ela é forçada a partir e a ficar com Khia. A primeira parte do livro tem lugar seis meses depois de Analynn “sair do caixão”. Durante esse tempo, Kailah tem visões muito estranhas. Quando tem que voltar para casa e enfrentar todos (incluindo Analynn) para o funeral de um amigo querido, as coisas começam a piorar. As suas visões são terríveis e é visitada em pensamento por seres sobrenaturais que nem sequer conhece, como Tara, a Mãe dos Lobisomens. A sua mensagem é clara… RECORDAR. Kailah não faz ideia do que se trata, mas as suas visões depressa a guiarão na direção correta, conduzindo-a a um clímax infernal no livro, em que Kailah começa a usufruir em pleno do seu legado de poder.

O que podemos esperar de diferente em "The Eternal Echo" em relação a "The Eternal Gift"?
Há certamente mais personagens. Neste livro, os Lobisomens (Rogue e Espirituais) são introduzidos e ficamos a conhecer um pouco melhor Khia. Este livro é muito diferente, porque vai mais fundo em termos psicológicos. É mais sinuoso, mas há definitivamente algumas cenas de ação boas e que são muito mais gráficas neste momento. Começamos a ver um lado totalmente novo de Kailah e aprendemos algo mais sobre ela. As emoções estão ao rubro, em parte também devido ao relacionamento conturbado de Aeric e Kailah. A Amanda não se envolve tanto ao longo do livro, mas a sua estória vai estar profundamente ligada ao próximo. A Amanda vai desempenhar um grande papel no próximo volume, assim como alguns novos personagens que adicionei.

Qual foi a parte mais divertida de criar? E a mais difícil?
A parte mais engraçada de escrever, por mais incrível que pareça, foi a cena do funeral. Deixei alguém lê-la e disse-me que estava em lágrimas de tanto rir. Então adorei – o resultado foi ótimo. O espírito de quem faleceu regressa e fala com Kailah durante toda a cerimónia fúnebre e mostra a sua aversão absoluta pela roupa e música escolhidas. É uma cena muito engraçada, mas também muito triste, pois é um personagem que adorava e espero que outros também. O mais difícil foi, de longe, o final. Foi uma loucura. Havia tanta coisa a acontecer e eu adoraria ir ao detalhe da ação, porque ainda me atordoa visualizar a cena na minha mente, mas não posso. Lol! Mas vou dizer que foi difícil e, definitivamente, a coreografia foi muito difícil de explicar. E a corrupção de uma das personagens foi muito complicada para mim, porque a adoro, mas era necessário ao enredo.

Quanto tempo demorou a escrever este livro?
Comecei em Maio de 2011, quando “The Eternal Gift” foi finalmente publicado. Só deveria demorar seis meses, mas acabou por levar oito! O enredo foi muito mais complicado do que eu tinha originalmente planeado mas, no final, acho que o extra de dois meses valeu a pena.

Haverá outro volume desta série?
Certamente irá haver um terceiro (e possivelmente um quarto). Não tenho certeza quanto ao calendário de lançamento do próximo. Estou a tirar algum tempo para trabalhar noutra estória, porque esta literalmente esgotou-me. Foi muito trabalho e custou-me muita energia cerebral para distorcer tanto as coisas! Lol!

"The Eternal Echo", the second volume of "The Eternal Series" by Candy Crum, came out this week. Werewolves are a new item to add to the story, which is described as full of high emotions and far more graphic. Get to know a little more in this flash-interview granted by the author.

What can you tell us about "The Eternal Echo"? What is it about?
The Eternal Echo focuses on the AFTERMATH of Analynn. The whole situation blows up in Kailah's face and she is forced to leave, and goes to stay with Khia! The first part of the book takes place 6 months after Analynn comes out of the coffin to everyone. During that time, Kailah has VERY strange visions. When she has to go back home and face everyone (including Analynn) for the funeral of a dear friend, things start getting worse. Her visions are terrible and she is visited in her thoughts by supernaturals she hasn’t even met, like Tara. The Werewolf Mother. Her message is clear… REMEMBER. Kailah has no idea what she is talking about but her visions soon lead her in the right direction spinning her into one HELL of a climax to the book and Kailah's coming to fruition with the legacy of her power.

What can we expect from "The Eternal Echo" that it’s different from "The Eternal Gift"?
There are certainly more characters. In this book, the Werewolves (both Rogue and Spiritual) are introduced, and we get to know Khia a bit better. This book is much different because it goes deeper into the mind. It is more twisty than anything but there are definitely some good action scenes in it and they are far more graphic this time. We get to see a whole new side of Kailah and learn something new about her. Emotions run VERY high in this one as well because of the troubled relationship between Aeric and Kailah. Amanda is not as involved throughout this book, BUT her storyline toward the end is deeply connected to the next book. Amanda will play a big role next time around. As will a few new characters I've added in.

Which was the funniest part to create? And the hardest?
The absolute funniest part to write, oddly enough, was the funeral scene. I let someone else read it and they said they were in tears because they were laughing so hard. So I loved it. It turned out great. The spirit of the one who passes comes back and talks to Kailah through the entire thing and displays her absolute distaste for the clothing and music chosen. It’s a very funny scene, but also very sad since it is a character that I loved and that hopefully others loved as well. The hardest was by far the ending. It was insanity. There is SO much going on and I would LOVE to go into the action-packed detail because I am still dazed by it when I picture it in my head, but I can’t. lol! But I will say it was definitely difficult and the choreography was VERY difficult to explain. And the corruption of one of the characters was very difficult to me. Because I love her so. But, it was necessary for storyline.

How long did it take you to write this book?
I started in May 2011 when The Eternal Gift was finally published. It was only supposed to take me 6 months but it ended up taking me 8! BUT, the storyline was FAR more complicated than I had originally planned so, in the end, I think the extra 2 months were worth it.

Will there be another volume in this series?
There will definitely be a 3rd (and possibly a 4th). I am unsure of the release timing for the next one. I'm taking some time off to work on another novel because this one literally exhausted me. It was a lot of work and took a lot of brain power to twist things around so badly! lol!
