Por que decidiu tornar-se escritora?

Porque odiava o meu trabalho de Relações Públicas e, finalmente, queria fazer algo que eu adorava.

Qual foi o primeiro livro que escreveu e do que tratava?

“Temptation’s Regret”. Era uma porcaria. Foi uma tentativa de suspense romântico com um enredo mal construído. A minha heroína, Abby, ia ser obrigada a casar com alguém para salvar o negócio de família. Lol. Precisava de trabalho.

Falemos sobre a série “Protector”. O que a levou a escrevê-la? E como surgiu a ideia?

Quando comecei a pensar em fazer um romance com um super-herói, foi quando a série “Heroes” estava a dar. Fiquei a pensar em todos os rumos que essa história podia ou não ter seguido. Então, quando comecei a ver “Alphas”, fiquei a matutar em maneiras de fazer evoluir o léxico do super-herói. Eu queria algo que fosse crível para o mundo moderno, como se isso pudesse acontecer consigo, o seu melhor amigo ou vizinhos. Mas eu também queria que fosse obscuro e explorar o lado mais sombrio do que acontece quando se tem todo esse poder e ninguém para se relacionar.

O que podem os leitores esperar de "Forsaken Protector"?

Muita aventura, cenas de ação, e uma grande história de amor, assim como uma nova visita de velhos amigos.

Que feedback tem recebido até agora?

Até agora o feedback tem sido bom. Tive alguns leitores a escreverem e a dizerem-me que adoram a forma como estou a conduzir a história e a continuar a série.

Why did you decide to become a writer?

Because I hated my PR job and finally wanted to do something I loved.

Which was the 1st book you wrote and what was it about?

Temptation’s Regret. It was a mess. It was an attempt at Romantic Suspense with a poorly thrown together plot. My heroine Abby was being forced to marry someone to save her family business. Lol. It needed work.

Let's talk about the Protector Series. What led you to write it? How did you come up with the idea?

When I started thinking about doing a superhero romance, it was back when Heroes was on. I kept thinking about all the places they could have gone with that story and didn’t. Then when I started watching Alphas, I kept thinking about ways to evolve the superhero lexicon. I wanted something that was believable for the modern world. Like this could happen to you or your neighbors best friend. But I also wanted it to be dark and explore the darker side of what happens when you have all this power and no one to relate to.

What can readers expect from "Forsaken Protector"?

A lot of adventure, action scenes, and a great love story. As well as a revisit with old friends.

What feedback did you get so far?

So far feedback has been good. I’ve had some readers write and tell me they love where I’m taking the story and how I’m continuing the series.

CRÍTICA
Concluí a leitura de “Forsaken Protector” a 26 de junho de 2012. Tal como ao primeiro volume da série, dou-lhe quatro estrelas.
Não tenho muito a acrescentar entre este livro e o primeiro da saga. Embora este seja a continuação do primeiro, ambos muito semelhantes no que diz respeito à linha condutora da história: há alguém com poderes, apaixonam-se inexplicavelmente, passam momentos tórridos de paixão…
O que quero destacar é então este último ponto. A autora descreve cenas muito gráficas sobre o relacionamento entre as personagens. Creio que as cenas estão muito bem conseguidas, pois Nana Malone não se coíbe de escrever o que acha que aconteceria se aquele fosse um acontecimento real, recorrendo a imagens explícitas e ao tipo de linguagem que crê que seria utilizado. Acho que eu não seria capaz de escrever cenas como essas; sou demasiado púdica, lol!

REVIEW
I finished reading "Forsaken Protector" on June 26, 2012. Like the first volume of the series, I rate it four stars.
I don’t have much to add to this book after the first of the saga. Although this is the continuation of the first one, both are both very similar in what comes to the conductive line of the story: there is someone with powers, inexplicably they fall in love, they spend torrid moments of passion...
What I want to stress this last point is then. The author describes very graphic scenes about the relationship between the characters. I think the scenes are very well achieved, as Nana Malone does not shy away from writing what she thinks would happen if this were an actual event, using graphic images and the kind of language that she believes would be used. I think I wouldn’t be able to write scenes like these; I'm too prudish, lol!

Acabei de ler este livro no dia 15 de junho de 2012 e dou-lhe uma classificação de quatro estrelas.
Esta é uma estória pequena que junta ficção científica e erotismo bastante gráfico. Não é uma combinação que costume ler com frequência, no entanto gosto de variar de vez em quando. Tenho a dizer que gostei.
O que mais me agradou foi a fluidez da história. As cenas sucedem-se com naturalidade, embora às vezes tenha ficado um pouco confusa com a transição, mas nada de significativo e que não seja fácil de recuperar. As cenas de ação e as de erotismo também estão bem equilibradas.
Em relação ao que menos gostei, preferia que o início fosse um pouco mais pausado; talvez tivesse desdobrado o primeiro capítulo em dois em vez de começar a dar porrada logo a arrancar.

I just read this book on June 15, 2012, and give it a rating of four stars.
This is a short story that combines science fiction and quite graphic erotica. It is a combination I seldom read, but I like to vary from time to time. I have to say that I liked it.
What pleased me most was the fluidity of the story. The scenes follow one another naturally, although sometimes the transition has been a bit confusing, but nothing significant and or hard to recover. The action scenes and the graphic ones are also well balanced.
Regarding the least liked, I wished the beginning was a little more paused; I would, perhaps, unfold the first chapter in two instead of starting kicking butts right away.
